2008 Dylan David - Lester 667
Willa Louise Block
This wine is handcrafted from nurtured vines of French Dijon clone 667. The appellation's coastal influence of warm days and cool nights provides the vines the ability to develop varietal fruit with rich concentrated flavors. This wine was aged exclusively in new French oak, unfiltered and unfined.
The Lester Family Ranch contains three hundred fifty acres on the eastern ridge of Pleasant Valley. Its vineyards consist of fifty acres of individual blocks of French Dijon Pinot Noir clones. It is situated one mile from our winery and is a shot distance from the Monterey Bay. The vineyards are south facing and possess their own unique micro-climates with warm days and tempered nights allowing the vines to gradually produce and mature fruit with intense varietal characteristics and complexity. The vines and the grapes clusters they produce are selectively nurtured, gently hand pruned, hedged, de-leafed and harvested. This wine was aged exclusively in small French oak barrels of medium toast that were held in environmentally controlled chambers.
